Hooked up per the instructions and swapped the .XML file but I'm not able to jog the machine. I think it has something to do with the parallel port address. My computer has no on-board parallel port so I needed to install two PCI cards; the default address may not be correct. Any thoughts?

Hi Tony,
Go into Control panel/System/Harware profiles/Ports, Select your LPT port 1, double click it, then select "Resources". There will be two rows with 4 sets of characters. The upper four left characters in the field are the port address. Enter them in MAch3 on the "Ports and pins" screen.
