I can't really figure out the attachment function to show more than one pic of my dust collection shoe modification. I was having trouble with the back of the shoe hitting the hold down clamps and throwing off the cut. I went with two smaller collectors in between the hole for the router bit and the holes for the upright collars, I then used 3/4 inch 90 degree copper couplings to connect hoses to an adapter i made to fit in my shop vac hose and had the whole assembly hanging from a small rail I placed directly about the cut area. That's pretty ingenious. Does it have enough flow to pick the dust up? Keep an eye on the tubing to make sure it doesn't suck shut.

Thanks Jim, There is plenty of suction so far, but I have only had a few runs before I ran into some Mach 3 problems. (in the middle of figuring them out). Because the vacuum inlets are closer to the router bit, when they throw off most of the dust, they seem to go right up the tubes. I was concerned about the tubes collapsing and had originally used two thicker tubes to go over the outside of the 3/4 fitting. This proved to be cumbersome and bulky and I lost so much flex in the assembly. So far I haven't had any clogs or tube collapses, but it is just a shop vac drawing on it perhaps it would be a bigger problem with something with more suction. Perhaps the best feature of this set up is that it really lengthend my cutting area because of how short the shoe has become meaning I can use a smaller piece of wood without worrying about hitting the hold down clamps with the back of the shoe. I am new to the WD-1, but so far everything is working super well. What about the air blowing down through the router? It seems to disperse a lot of the dust. I built a contraption to deflect the air flow so that it blows away from the table. Seems to work pretty well. I left a lot of area in the contraption for air flow, but am still concerned about the router heating up. I like the idea about having the suction hose closer to the router bit. Does anyone use a cyclone device in front of their dust collector? Perryjackson, will you be selling any of your silicon moldings?

rlk6166,
How about I cast you one set for free and you pick up the shipping cost?
