After having my WD-1 off for a couple weeks, I turned it back on and am now getting the "External Estop Requested" message. I click reset and it doesn't change. I have checked my port settings- computer says the second port is E800 and Mach 3 adds an x to it just like port 1 (which I read to be normal). If I reverse the Estop input, the message disappears, but I can't get a jog (even though mach 3 DRO's are changing). If I disable the LP2 port, Mach3 reports "Estop reconfigured", but I have the same problems as before.
I've checked all the forums and am coming up blank.. wondering if there is a hardware problem? Lot's of work to do, so I am anxious to get back up and running. Thanks, K

Hello,
Are you getting a yellow LED on the front of the machine? It may be the internal fuse on the machine. There is a trouble shooting guide posted above this thread. E800 does not sound like a valid 2nd port address, and that is usually a port driver issue.

Good yellow light- machine sounds like it recognizes the computer sine I get a succession of little crackles (relays) when the machine boots and when Mach3 boots. The computer lists the port as E800-E807 in the control panel and Mach3 lists it as 0xe800. Mach3 does report that the xml file initializes correctly (I put in the xml from the website when troubles started) and I tried running your 2nd port installer software from the site too- didn't seem to help so I re installed the original driver (my card uses the same chip set as you recommend). I have gone through the trouble guides and tried most of what I have seen- of course, maybe I am not doing it correctly too. You mentioned a fuse- the two in front are working, but I will have to remove the bed to see any others, which I will do this AM too. I will try re installing the motherboard drivers this AM as well and see if I can get the computer back to factory. It's a clean computer since I only use it with my WD-1 and Mach3. This all started when I decided to try hooking up a centering ring through the port you built into the machine... one step forward and one back, but I am confident the computer and machine will talk. Since my WD-1 is my go to tool for about everything, I miss it!

The machine is controlled off of LPT Port1 of your PC. The second LPT port is for the encoder board. And E800 again does not sound like a valid port address. Stock PC parallel port 1 is typically 0378.
I would try a reinstall of Mach3 and XML, something may have gotten corrupted.

In a phone conversation yesterday, it appears that both ports were added to this PC and they are both Netmos 9805 chipsets. The 0378 port address for port 1 is a Windows legacy address for on-board OEM factory installed ports. I have never seen this port address generated for an aftermarket port installation, nor ever heard of it working for a Netmos 9805 port. It was more than likely a fluke that Port 1 was working in this manner.
Download the driver from our website or use the one on the included CD disc that came with the ports. When Windows asks if it can look for a suitable driver at install, refuse and opt to point to the correct driver all along the way during install. On the correct driver install, a message will come up saying that this driver is not digitally signed "Would you like to continue?" Select "Yes continue anyways"
Than go back to System/Hardware/Device Manager/Ports and make sure it is installed as an ECP/EPP Netmos LPT Port. If it says "Multifunction Device", the wrong driver is loaded.
