Hi Guys,
Update on Vcarve.
Everyone has paid and I am making the purchase now. From what I understand the license unlocks the demo and the training tools can be downloaded from their site. As well as all other documents.
So it looks like it's just a simple affair of emailing.
Thanks everyone for your cooperation. Often group buys can become a bit tangled. This one has went well. Maybe we'll do it for some other things too.
Soon as I get them, I'll forward them on.
These are coming from the UK so be aware of the time difference.
Thanks, Ron

Another update:
I sent a mail to confirm what you guys are getting (Vcarve PRo with training materials, etc) and he said, Yes and I mailed back to do the purchase and haven't heard anything back yet. They are like 7 hours ahead of us. They must've went home for the evening. So should be tomorrow morning.
Thanks Ron

I used the poly line feature of V-carve to draw a grid. the resulting g code wants to take me to z60! suggestions?

Sam, I would try a different post processor when creating the toolpath in Vcarve. There is like 3 for Mach3. The "G91.1", I'm not quite sure what that is, some sort of incremental mode? I don't think Mach3 even supports that. Look really close when creating the toolpath and make sure there isn't something selected for for Z and 60 inches. It almost looks like it spit code for a metric Z and inch X and Y The Romaxx would look funny with a 5 foot Z on it Let us know what you find out, Ron I'll go take a look too.

Sam,
I had a look and I'm guessing if we are working in inches, when the tool is selcted make sure that is changed to inches too when the code is generated. In the tool menu it's just to the right of the word "Geometry" It may be mixing english with metric in the post processor because the tool is selected in metric.
Some programs have a parameter that can be selected in their config to i.e. to always work in english.

Sam,
After you create a toolpath, select "save file" and there is a scrollable list of post processors.

my scrollable list is empty, I have searched my C drive, the only .pst files I have are Mill example and example in the lazycam docs. The Artsoft website has a dowload list but I don't see anything on Romaxx www.artsoftcontrols.com/cam.htm

Sam,
I'm a newbie with Vcarve too. I would think that the post processors would be available from directly from Vectric.com. By not having any available in the list, it sounds like maybe a bad install. You might try re-installing. All here came up by default. You did download the version in the link that they sent correct? If you're trying to use the demo version that could be the problem too.

Sam,
No problem at all. Just glad you got it rectified. The next time I get asked that I'll know straight away what it is.
Thanks, Ron
