This is probably a dumb question, but...
I just got my machine today! and so far I'm impressed.
However, I'm having a tough time trying to figure out how to setup the Z-axis.
Can someone step me through how I would setup and zero out the Z-Axis to cut a simple part, say the "Anything" File?
Do I set 0 at the top of the material I want to cut?
If so, do I lower the bit until it just contacts the material and then set Z to 0?
Thanks for what I imagine is a simple question...

Hello and congrats on machine!!
Yep, zero all axis to top of material. I personally like the lower left-hand corner (that's how I draw stuff so they stay in positive axis on X & Y) -Z will be your depth of cut.
Whenever you ZERO remember to "Regenerate toolpath" and notice how it relates to your drawing. You can check your max and mins by clicking on TOOLPATH tab (-z will tell you your max depth for examp)
I think the ANYTHING file was drawn from center table ,so pay attention to where the tool Regens at.

Thanks!
I was able to cut a couple of the sample programs tonight!!
Good fun!
I tried one of the VCarve Pro sample programs (Open Sign), just cutting air with the router off, and it came up with a ton of extra circles in the picture....
From what I can tell, it sounds like I need to change the IJ Mode to Inc, does that sound correct?
Thanks!!
