I was just working on my machine, I was putting a new sacrificial sheet on the table when the router started to move funny in the x-axis like it was twitching. So I went to mach 3 to jog it manually and it was moving like it was at the end of it's track and now it will not move at all. There is also a hot smell. Like the smell from over worked electronics.
Help please!

If you look in the electronics drawer by the drive that controls the x axis there is a small fuse, check that. Also make sure that all of the drives light up when you power on the until, if one doesn't check that fuse.

Thanks. I have power to all of the gecko drives and all of the fuses are in tact.

I just had the same problem develop. Been running great for a year and a half, but in the middle of a cut, the x mototr started to miss steps, then stutter. I thought the gears jammed, but when I hit the estop button, I could hand crank the X Axis and it moved smoothly in both directions. When I reset Mach3, I could still turn the motor by hand, so the motor braking action was obviously not working. I reset the machine and computer several times. Sometime the X motor would work fine, but then switch directions on its own. Anyone ever have this problem?
Thanks! Kevin W
Resolution: Ron and I traded a couple emails and it turned out to be a broken black wire about 4" into the chain channel. Pretty easy fix and back up! Excellent response from Ron as always!!
