Tim, Those wires are part of an automatic X-Y-Z zeroing circuit. I use a macro that: - finds the Z of the fixture and sets the Z DRO
- finds the X location of the fixture and sets the X DRO
- finds the Y location of the fixture and sets the Y DRO
- finds the elevation of the aluminum plate on top of the work and sets the Z axis datum to the thickness of the plate.
This takes advantage of Mach 3's probing (G31) feature. Each edge is found by the closing of an electrical circuit. I'll outline it further in the near future. You can read more about how Mach can use a probing feature here: www.artsoftcontrols.com/forum/index.php?topic=2136.msg12552#msg12552-Nick
