I'm a newbie to CNC but have been having a lot of fun and still learning the software and Mach3 I got with my WD1. I just purchased a Logitech Attack 3 Joystick with 11 buttons. I have it installed on my computer and it appears to be working correctly. At this point the only thing I want to use it for is controlling the X, Y, & Z axis.
What I need to do now is get it setup in Mach 3 (V 3.043.022). I've read numerous threads on Joysticks but that has only confused me. I see references to several different plugin's and don't know which to use or how to set it up..
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Might want to try one of the plug-ins for Mach3 here. www.machsupport.com/plugins.phpI don't know anything about running a joystick, I did run the xbox control for a bit and really liked it. Also Mach 3 has a keygrabber you can find in the Mach3 folder, it may be of help. George

Well after several tries to get my joystick to work in Mach3 for three axis control, I've all but given up with the joystick I have.
What I'd like to know is what controllers are out there that you use on your romaxx.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I use the Shuttle Pro 2. Lots of programmable buttons, variable speed control, dual control wheels. Great bang for the buck. Full mach 3 plugin support. I have used joysticks, but prefer this especially when setting X Y Z. Macros can be triggered by buttons for whatever. But as usual "to each his own".

I ended up returning the joystick and purchased a Logitech Dual Action game Pad. It controls X, Y, and Z and is working great. It has 12 Buttons for controlling other features but I haven't got that far yet.
