The bell stand and bell plaque are made of cherry. The plaque is laminated Birdseye Maple on cherry. If you decide to do this make sure you clamp it well. To prevent glue blowout start clamping at one end and work the clamps up to the other. To keep the islands from tearing out make sure to let the piece setup before cutting. I wait at least 24 hours. i use a natural finish. 3 coats of Campbell's natural woodsong 10 then 3 coats of Howard's citrus beeswax. I prefer penetrating finishes vise varnishes and lacquers.
