Hello everyone. I am new too the world of CNC. I have been getting too know my WD-1 that I have had now for two weeks. The question I have is the set up of MACH3. Are all the settings correct from the MACH3 download file that you get with the machine? Or do you need to tweak some of the settings yourself ? Just trying to make sure at the machine is set up right, and cutting the way it should. Thank you all for any info on this subject.

If you followed Ron's instruction in setting up Mach it should be ready to cut. One thing you will need to set up is the homing/soft limits for the machine. You can cut without setting this up but if you have the homing/soft limits set up correctly Mach will not let your machine cut outside of the limits (or boundries.) If you run an axis to it's limit it will rumble and lose it's position and the rest of your cut will be off. If you send me a private message I would be glad to walk you through it over the phone.
I would also suggest you check the WD-1 to make sure it is cutting square. Again, I would be happy to help you with it.
Good luck, Jim Williams

My WD-1 is up and running. I have been able to V-Carve a few things, but am having a problem with the homing and soft limit procedures. I have been doing some reading and research but cannot seem to get it to work. I cannot seem to set my machine DRO to zero. I have no problem with the working DRO. I do not want to operate the machine too much without some safety.
Any help will be appreciated.
This is an awesome machine.
Thanks
