Just in case anybodies interested... I have a Gopro 3 that I use to keep an eye on the router. The camera sits in standby via WIFI and when I need to, I can access it via my smartphones WIFI. The WIFI has a published 600 foot range but if you add in the garage walls and EMI spewing spindle its reduced to the interior of a standard 2 story 2500 sq ft house. Works pretty slick though, I originally mounted it on the spindle but the hi-freq vibes jellow the picture. Attachments:

Neat! Back when I had a shop with an internet connection I wrote a macropump that sent me a text message when the routine was finished, needed a tool change, or estopped itself (with a different text message for each, specifying the issue). Always nice to know whats going on if you'd rather not stand there and watch paint dry. ;-)

Nice job - I have a cheap webcam over my machine and just watch it on the computer inside - Works great and lets me know when I need to go out and change a sheet -
