HI, My machine is working just fine, but stopped two times while cutting in 3D. This is my first major attempt in 3D. The maximum size of my cut is 8" x 18" and I am using the dish format. Did a rough cut and it worked okay. My finish cut parameters are:
1) 1/8" ball nose with a 0.0089 step over. About 7%. 2) My feed rate was set at 60 inches/minute, but I slowed it down to 40 inches/minute. Talked to Ron this afternoon. 3) My raster angle is 45`.
I did some testing before I started the actual cut to get an idea of what I wanted it to look like. I am looking for a good clean cut so that is why I used the above parameters. Right now it is looking just fine. When it shut down the first time, I started the cut from scratch and everything blended in okay. I don't want to start from scratch again, and I don't know how to do a restart from a certain line. I think that because of the parameters I am using, my file is just too large. Is it possible to break the file into three parts? I am going to do some research but any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks
Bob

I have done about what you are doing and have had no problem. I have had some pretty big files, some of my 3D projects took over 4-5 hours to cut. Are you using Mach3? If so and it is the demo version it has a cutoff on how many lines it will process. At one time it was 500 not sure what it is now.
