I'm so new that I don't have a machine yet. A great many hours have been invested in research and I've narrowed my search down to 3 machines. The HS 1 is my first choice because of features and price. My hesitation to dive right in hinges on all the problems that I read about in the forums. Are there really that many problems and are they super technical? I'm not a computer guru and some solutions leave me wondering what is being talked about. I'm an old mechanic and mechanical things are easy but computer solutions leave me in the dark. I guess what I'm asking is if I get a machine and problems arise, will there be someone who can help be in language that I can understand? Thanks in advance.

Hi, As with any mechanical device some maintenance is required and repair over time. The confusion often stemming from internet forums, the majority of people that typically post are those that are having some sort of issue. We get calls and emails all the time thanking us and commenting how satisfied they are with their Romaxx machine, they typically will not join a forum to tell post about that (I wish more would). Just had one about five minutes ago. We've been doing this for nine years now, have over a thousand machines in the field and we fully support all of them. To date, not one issue with a machine of ours has failed to be resolved in a satisfactory and timely manner. The machines are easily understood and repaired in the field. We manufacture every part for them except some purchased items and it is all done in house, there isn't one thing we don't know about them. People ask sometimes "Is there anything you'd change about the machines if you could? I answer: "We can and would have done so if we felt any changes needed to be made". We are always an email or phone call away. We have no set hours during the day for support as some of our competitors do. And we answer the phone and emails like many of our competitors fail to do. Each of our customers is important whether they buy a new or used machine, they are taken care of. We would never sell a machine and then disregard a customer afterwards. That is just bad business. After many years in the CNC business - 16 years total ( we started out doing automotive tooling and CNC Bridgeport retrofits), I've seen many manufacturers or CNC companies come and go. We knew early on our machines would have to perform well with very little maintenance, and that has been achieved. Our support load is minimal. I'm a Toolmaker/machinist/designer by trade. I speak and write in layman's terms and my whole objective when someone calls or emails is to find a resolution to their problem and keep them happy. Not to convince them how smart I think I am. I learned at a very young age, that is a very risky endeavor -Ron

Thanks Ron. It's good to know that help is out there. I did order the HS 1 and can't wait for it to get here. Looking forward to years of making things that are too difficult to make with hand tools. Thanks again

I'm a little late to reply to this post, but that never stopped me before so here goes.
I have an HS1 and for the first 3-4 years I think I used it almost daily. Life and medical issues got in the way and for the last 3+ years my HS1 has been setting, but soon to be brought back to life.
For the years I used the machine almost daily (I'm retired and have a lot of free time) not once did I have a problem that was caused by the machine failing. Yes I had a loose V wheel here and there but that was my fault for knot keeping up on maintenance.
I have had two problems that required replacement of some part on the machine.
1. Replace V wheels….My fault, I was engraving a lot of corian and did not have dust collection set up. Vwheels and corian dust (fine as flour) do not get along together.
2. Belt on the Y axis. My fault again, I tighten down the screw where the belt connects to the Z axis with way too much force and after a bit it broke where the belt is crimped down..
Both times Ron replaced part for a price I could not refuse.
I was looking at three desktop machines as I was looking at the Romaxx. The two other machines cost a little less and had a bit more cutting area but I kept on coming back to the HS1. Have not seen the people selling the other machines now for many many years. To this day I have never regretted buying the HS1. This past week I was looking on the internet at what some of the other cnc router companies have to offer in the desktop area just to see what is out there. I did not see one that I would pass up a Romaxx for if my cutting needs were meet with the HS1 or WD1 if I were buying another one.
The few times I had problem and any questions Ron was quick to respond, the forum members are also quick to give suggestions and answers.
Other than being a happy Romaxx customer I have no connection with Romaxx.
Congratulations on getting an HS1, you will enjoy it.
