Got my new HS1 2 days ago. Hats off to Ron & his crew for excellent packaging. Put the machine on it's new table & started the setup. Found out that the fuse for the x axis was blown. Repaired that & loaded a file for an air run. The file is an oval shaped pocket that has 6 passes of .125" per pass. The x & y axes are doing fine, but the z axis has moved over 1" at the start of the 4th pass. I checked to make sure the the z axis was set as Ron instructed at 10,000 steps per unit. My units are in inches. I've run the file 3 different times with the same results. I'm real new & am at a loss as to what could make the z axis move more than directed. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Ron for the e-mail. Turning the acceleration way down on the z axis seemed to work, at least in the air cut. Tomorrow I will try the real thing. Thanks again Ron. Dave

Hi, I'm new to the forum and looking into a different problem, but I wanted to say that I had to do the same with my WD1. It wouldn't drop nearly as much, but an 1/8" throughout the operation (some light carving). Looking in my settings recently, I'd adjusted acceleration to 2. This was a few years ago and I had no issues in this regard since, although I haven't done more than a few dozen hours with the machine (hoping to change that!).
