I'm new to CNCs, but I bought the wd-1 and have been trying some of the boxes that were free downloads. I am running into trouble when it comes to design work on the scroll work. I can't seem to get the machine to cut curves well. They end up with flat edges instead of nice curves. Just wondering if anyone has run into this. I have tried creating my own designs for top of boxes but with same results.

Could be caused by a couple of things. 1. If you are cutting dxf files, your translator could be outputting line segments instead of curves. Check your settings. 2. Make sure you are using the correct post processor for Mach3. I believe it should be the Mach3 arcs. 3. If you are cutting STL files, they are made up of triangles of varying sizes. make sure you have a high resolution Stl file.
Maybe Romaxx will jump in with some suggestions

Thanks for repling Mike. The files I am cutting are crv file, and I have been using Gcode(inch).tap for my post processor. I will try a arc post processor and see if that helps. I have tried a txt but it wasn't any better.
Thanks for the advise.

Just tried with G-Code Arcs.tap and it still has flat ends instead of good curves.
But thanks Mike for the advice.

I figured out what the problem was. A bolt on the cross bar, that hold the router assembly, was loose and letting the router move slightly. After tightening a little it works perfect now. The bolt must have loosened in transit.
Thanks for the helpful suggestions.
