My HS-1's MPG is making me a little crazy. Can anyone throw me a lifeline?
My intent is to use the MPG for very small [high resolution] adjustments when homing the machine on the work. Unfortunately here's what happens:
1. I hit the tab button and the jog screen pops up [good] 2. I select mpg for the jog mode [good] 3. I select the axis to adjust [good] 4. I turn the wheel and that's where things go south [bad] . a. When 'Velocity' or 'Step/Velocity' are selected the machine will adjust it's position for each click [detent] on the wheel, but only in big chunks. This is not workable for fine adjustments. Changing the MPG Feedrate and the % number [whatever that does] don't improve this. b. When 'Single Step' or 'Multi-Step' are selected I get no movement per one click of the wheel. To get movement I have to quickly spin the wheel 3 or more detents and then it machine will adjust. The MPG federate and % number do affect the speed but I can't control anything unless it moves a predetermined distance per one click. Is this a calibration issue? Has anyone had a similar experience?

Yeesh. I think I found it. It was a Config, Ports and Pins, Encoder/MPGs issue. Just had to change to one unit per detent and all is well.
Should have tried harder before posting the question. Sorry about that all.
